This is a “must have” application if you need to manage your hard disks partitions. It virtually supports every tasks that any other partition application does and it’s completely free being a “all-in-one”.
It supports the following features:
- Copy Partitions
- Resize / move partitions
- Merge partitions
- Convert to logical / primary
- Change labels
- Defragmentation
- Extended partitions
- No ads or toolbars
- Copy wizard to copy partitions or migrate entire disks without data loss
- Most operations that don’t evolve the system partitions don’t require any reboot
- Wipe data on allocated space
- Wipe disk or partition to permanently delete sensitive data
- Convert dynamic disk to basic and convert FAT to NTFS without any data loss
- Disk surface test to find bad sectors and rebuild MBR to boot from system again
- Linux partition management (delete, create, format, recover EXT2/EXT3 partitions, etc…
- Support for all hardware RAID, multiple removable storage device, hard disk and GPT disk (supports up to 2 terabytes partitions on MBR and 4gb on GPT
- Ability to recover lost partitions
- Support for Windows 2000 / XP / Vista / 7 SP1 x86 and x64 bits
And a lot more. Check for detailed list of features here for each operation available.
I use this every time I need to manage a partition or hard drive. It’s useful in every aspect. For example, if you want to install Linux on a partition of the same system drive, you can just resize the main partition and create right away another one with the size you want, ready for Linux (allows you to format the partition or drive right away to Ext2/Ext3, swap, ReiserFS, etc…)
No big knowledge is required to do most operations related to partitioning, however to use this, you’re supposed to know what you want to do in first place. Most operations that result in data loss, it’s because the user doesn’t know what he is doing, however the interface is quite simple but still, you’ll have to know what you’re doing.
Now let me show you some screenshots of the application.
1 – The main interface, which lists the hard drive and partitions on each one.:
2 – Available disk operations from context menu:
3 – Available partition operations (from context menu):
4 – Disk clone wizard (very helpful because it will guide you through the process).
Just select the source disk, the target and let the wizard to the rest ;-)
Now, there are mot screens that I could put up, but you got the idea of what to expect from this application. It’s safe to use, does the job nicely and it’s free. Supports virtually all disk and partition operations related to deleting, copy, resizing, merging, format, changing drive letters, converting to dynamic, etc… and it’s FREE. for all of this, what more could you ask for? I’m giving 5 stars for it. Because most applications that support all of these features are shareware or trial. Give it a go, you won’t regret.
